>>WeMo Resetting the Easy Way<<
There is absolutely NO way for an easy reset! I have finally figured it out.
1. remove the app
2. get the link in pairing mode
3. start the app using the paring WiFi network
4. let the app do the pairing, when it comes and stayes to searching for bulbs, close the app.
Now here is the clue (as of this date)
5. start the app and go manually to: add wemo link devices
6. leave the app running and now do the reset of each bulb.
The result is 3 times flicker for the reset _AND_ some seconds later again 3 times flicker for the app to recognize the bulb.
Although maybe obvious, after hours of searching for finding this page, you might get clouded to only try to reset the bulbs and expecting all to work once you simply pair the link. It doesn't, only via the procedure as described up here.

Sound like a hardware problem. Send us an email at WemoCares@belkin.com and we'll have someone check that properly. Please include the link to this thread for our reference.

WeMo devices (all 5 of them - plugs) could not connect to our home wifi
Have a Netgear Nighthawk x8 8500 router. Logged on as admin and noticed there was a pretty hefty firmware update to be done.
Updated firmware - and voila! everyone connected easily and happily

Hi, Fentons1. Flashing amber on the LED indicator of your Wemo Switch means that there's no connection established between your Wemo device and the router. Is this for initial setup or has it worked fine before? If you've peformed the factory reset via the app, try to manually reset your Wemo unit by following the following steps instead:
Step 1: Unplug your Wemo.
Step 2: Hold down the Restore button (labeled at the top).
Step 3: While holding the Restore button down, plug the Wemo into the power outlet, and continue to hold the button down for 5 seconds. The status light will begin to blink orange to signify it is resetting.
Step 4: Release the button. It should take about 45 seconds for the Wemo to restore and reboot. It will blink blue and amber when finished.
Post back for any update so we can help you isolate things properly.
