Hi, WemoUserChris. Try restoring your Wemo devices through the Wemo App and make sure that the firmware version is updated. BTW, what's the model number of your Wemo plugs?

I had this problem as well.....over a year ago. Sad to see they have not resolved the issue. However a work around is to create two separate rules. One to turn on and a separate rule to turn off. It has worked for me, but WeMo needs to get their engineers to fix the problem.

What specific rule are you trying to save? Have you tried force closing the app and clearing the cache and launching the app again? If not, you may do so. You can also try to uninstall/install the Wemo app and re-create the rules. If none will work, try to reset the light switch, reconfigure and create the rules.

Let's try to reset through the WEMO App. Make sure to choose the option: Reset Name, Rules & Data. Make sure that the Light Switch is running on its latest firmware to enhance its performance. By the way, what WEMO App version are you currently using? For further observation, delete and recreate the rule using a different compatible handheld device to check if the same issue occurs.
