FYI-- wemo light switches do not work on 3-way switches. You have to have an electrician disable one of the 2 wall switches. Then you can make the one wall switch work with wemo.

I think the OPs problem was different from this. But it is important to note that a proper electrician will NOT disable the 2nd switch in a 3-way circuit as it's a code (safety) violation in most locations. It's completely unnecessary in any case: 3-way switches.

mikiheller, did you ever get this fixed? I just got a WeMo light switch and have the same problem -- when I turned it on, the lights turned on for a split second, then turned off immediately, and the WeMo light switch appeared to reset itself with a blinking green/amber light. Everything is wired correctly. WeMo support was not very helpful and told me to get an electrician to evaluate the wiring. Did an electrician ever find the problem with your wiring?

Almost certainly a wiring problem. If you're convinced the wiring is correct, in this (perhaps rare?) case wemo support is correct about finding an electrician. You might suspect a defective wemo but it's unlikely.
If you try to sort it yourself you may want to use a meter. First thing to check is whether it's "power through fixture" wiring - power will be coming in on the WHITE and out through the black (the white wire should have some black tape or other mark on it if it's been done right). If you don't have another neutral wire available in that box the wemo won't work there.

The same thing happened to me and I was able to fix it. IF your light switch turns off a split second after you turn it on it is because you wired it wrong.
In my case, I had the ground wire connected to the neutral. The load and live were in the correct positions but when I turned on the light switch, it turned off a split second later.

I had the same exact problem.
I bought a house that had the swiches installed and was pulling them out to find a reset button (I did not notice the two little ones under the switch).
I tried resetting, etc. but discovered when I pulled the switch out a little I also pulled out the ground wire. After reconnecting the ground wire everything worked.

I've had my electrician come in 3 times for this light switch. It's never worked. It's flashing amber and when I turn on the light, the light turns off immediately. The wiring is correct, it's been check 3 times by a certified electrician. Is it the light bulb that I'm using? I'm almost positing that I bought the correct bulb. All other WeMo lightswitches that he installed are working fine!
Please help! I don't want to return the light as I threw out my receipt!

He might have checked it 3 times but he's been wrong each time... unless the switch is defective he hasn't connected the neutral wire properly. It's likely wired as "power through fixture" - maybe he didn't bother to read the instructions and assumed it'd work as a normal switch? You might ask him why he didn't try the switch before leaving on any of his 3 visits... It should always work manually if it's wired correctly.
Flashing amber means you haven't got it connected properly to your wifi or your wifi isn't strong enough there, but that's a different problem (use the restart/restore buttons). You can probably sort that while waiting for him to come back, just don't turn on the light till he fixes the wiring.
