I've got several Wemo devices (mini's & light switch) and recently installed a UBNT mesh WiFi system and noticed that the Wemos will stick with whichever AP they initially associate with (for example if I set them up in one location then move them) even when there is a better signal to be had on another AP. Doesn't look like they know how to "roam" properly.

Are your other wireless devices experiencing the same challenge? If so, it'd be best to contact your router's manufacturer for further assistance as this might be isolated from their end.

No, all my other devices (iPhone, iPad, Chromecast, Harmony Elite, Roomba) are roaming as they should. It's just the wemo devices that seem to stick to the first AP they associate with.

Hi, glc650. Please email us at WemoCares@belkin.com so we can have our Escalation Engineers assist on this. Also, please include your phone number, location, the firmware of the WEMO devices, and WEMO App version.

I too am noticing this issue, I also noticed that the wemo app has issues connecting to some of my wemo devices. The connectivity issues happen if I'm not on the same AP as the device.
Haven't had too many issues with the wemo app. The iOS version crashes to the home screen a lot including when trying to setup the bulb type for my dimmers. The Android version has neither of these issues. I also have no issues with my Wemos being on several different SSIDs and my iDevices being on a different SSID altogether from the Wemos.
I never got any where with belkin support on this issue (multi-ap environment) even after they escalated. I finally got tired of waiting and just created an additional, unique SSID on each app. Then I reset wifi on all my wemos (all 36 of them) and pointed them to the unique SSID for their location. This really should not be necessary considering how many multi-ap systems are out there. Belkin needs to get their act together and fix this.
