Is Belkin/WeMo is working on adding support for Apple's new HomeKit platform comming in iOS8?
I am pretty sure that there are working on it. Saw this link (https://twitter.com/jelgie/status/474260617663373312) from Belkin's Get Satisfaction community.
+1 For me getting this integration is key to me expanding WEMO devices throughout my house. Otherwise I will need to look for another solutions that does integrate.
Agree. Currently, Belkin doesn't have an official WeMo app for Windows but I found this link that you may also want to check. Here it is: https://getsatisfaction.com/belkinwemo/topics/wemo_devices_windows_store_app
I would like Wemo for Apple HomeKit too!
any confirmation of this?
Everyday I say, "Siri, turn on the kitchen light" hoping beyond hope that it will work. Until it does happen via HomeKit I will continue to send a text (IFTTT) to Jarvis to #kitchenlight.
Siri, when I leave home turn off the kitchen light.
Ok, when you leave home I will turn the Kitchen light off.
I had forgotten about this until I saw this as one of the unanswered questions in the Wemo Inventor live hangout call.
Whats the progress on integrating with apple's Homekit API? I would assume that Belkin would be a featured partner as your devices and accessories are sold in Apple stores and to miss the boat on this would be a huge mistake.
but still... if you could at least tag the post as "in progress" or at the minimum "under review" I'd feel a lot better about it.
Sunatnnedmonk, if you have a Nest, you can do this. If Nest goes to Away, turn off all lights. Or, you can use an IFTTT location awareness rule, but this method will only follow one device, so if other family members are home, it will turn off the lights on them. But I found a workaround, Life360 rules. You can create a Life360 rule that says when ALL people have left (or more technically, their phones), then turn off all the lights.
I want HomeKit integration. Without it I don't buy any wemo switch to my home. I'll buy compatible devices. Belkin must to give us official information about it.
