An Insight swithch (always on, no switch) with two teperature probes (preferrably wired) to monitor refrigerator / freezer temperatures and power usage. Will always default to 'on' after a power outage or network failure. I am taking delivery of a new refrigerator today and would find this very usefull.
Just started buying into the Wemo Suite, with both lights, motion sensors and a Camera HD. But I'm missing what seems like a logical next step, namely a home security systems that bridges all of the above (as well as the coming door/window sensors).
What I'm interested in is a hub (with a LOUD siren) that you can arm/disarm with either your phone or preferably a token of some sort (to my kids or wife who doesn't want to fiddle about with apps all the time). For the token I guess you could use the key chain sensor.
I've been looking at providers such as iSmartAlarm and Scout Alarm, and they have much of the same hardware as Belkin but with the added vulnerability of being startup companies, so I'm not too keen to risk placing my bet on them, especially as I would much rather add to my current eco-system than start up a new.
I don't know if that's in the pipeline as it seems like such a logical next step, but otherwise please, please consider doing at least a Home Security Hub that can bind together your different sensors/devices and add a siren/notification. Oh, and stickers for the window (as theses are as much a deterent).
I'd be highly interested in a wemo product that let me power cycle it from the internet with an 'auto-on' option. I take long trips away from home and I regularly check in on my home automation (alarm, a/c, cameras, etc.). Sometimes there is a problem that only a physical power cycle to the router will fix.
It would be very handy to have an option where you could tell the wemo insight plug to power down the plug for say, 1 minute, then power it back up. That would reset my router and allow me access to everything again.
What i need is to be able to switch / control the lights on when it's starts to get dark and off again when it gets light - not just when the sunrises and/or sunset's. So a room sensor (idealy built into the light switch) that monitors the light level and switches on/off inline with a set value. Some form of Hysterisis needs to be added so that (for instance) people walking past the sensor that cast a shadow does not trigger the lights on/off. My plan is for when it gets dark (to a selective level) the curtains are drawn automatically and the lights fade to on...
It would be awesome to have a replacement lamp socket that is wemo. The socket could be turned on manually like the traditional way, or controlled via wemo app. Lamp sockets are very easy to replace - most DIY folks would not be intimidated.
I'd like to see the ability to see a trigger log in the wemo App especially for the away mode. I know the ifttt can do this but it means logging into another app or logging into something on the web. Be easier in one place.
Can you make an option for a rule action to have a LED blub flash on and off for say 5 seconds when motion is triggered? I have been using IFTT to notify me by SMS when my cat is at the front door (IFFT motion sensor on camera) but sometime I miss the text so it would be also good if it could flash a Wemo LED light bulb several times as a visual alert in additon to the SMS? This could also be useful as a visual doorbell for the hearing impaired.
I wanted a way to turn off the Internet if the kids had not finished their homework. After some study I added a second router for a second home network. And then put a WeMo wi-Fi switch so that I could turn it off at midnight and back on at 6 AM automatically. I've then equipped my wife's phone and my phone with the app to turn it off or on manually when the kids complete their homework.
Please add a wall switch being turned 'on' and a wall switch being turned 'off' as triggers to list list available in the app. Also add the ability to toggle a switch (change the state to the opposite) as a response. This would allow setting up three way switch applications. Wiring is changed so the one switch controls the light. The other is not connected to any output. It just acts as a trigger for the master. I currently use this function through IFTTT, but there is a delay that is unpleasent... I can live with the slight delay I experiance such as when using a Wemo motion to trigger a wall switch.

I just got into WEMO devices and I love them. I invision replacing all my wall switches with new WEMO ones but I can begin to really consider that without Dim capability built into the switch. I have many 3 way and even a 4 way switch so it would be even better if it had support for that as well. To go just one step further, couldn't it measure power consumption of whatever the switch is powering
