Horizontal Wemo Light Switch

by russell_taylor on ‎06-19-2014 06:03 AM
I was looking at looking at purchasing a Wemo Light switch but noticed that it is only available in vertical form. My light switches run horizontal so there installing a current Wemo light switch would look terrible.. Please bring out a horizontal version of this awesome light switch!!!

I have a defunct alarm system which has a very loud alarm siren 100+db.  I found the driver in the control panel and ran a 120v to 12v converter and plugged it into a blekin switch.

So then I can create a rule for the motion detectors to trigger the siren when it goes off.  But I would also like to create a panic switch up in our bedroom which would trigger the same alarm siren.

The alarm control box is in the basement and so is the belkin switch.  The wemo maker needs to be allowed as a trigger to another switch or to each other.

IR functionality

by WEMO Maker Inventor on ‎06-04-2014 08:56 AM

I have several WeMo switches and motion sensors and whem i was playing around with them I was very sad to find out that if my A/C is disconnected from power that when using the switch it will not come back on and I was trying to find a solution to this problem when an Idea hit me. Programable IR light. My A/C like many others uses an IR remote control and if I could put an IR emitter on the WeMo app it would allow me not just on/off but full functionality of the A/C. that also led me to realize that would open up the posibility of full control of a TV as well or anything that uses a remote.

New features to light switch app

by Anonymous on ‎06-03-2014 01:02 PM
We need a dimmer function to be added to the app (not sure if the hardware will allow this).

More importantly, a widget feature to control lights on the android home screen would be great! That way you could turn on and off from the android home screen.

Wemo Smart Wifi Router

by WEMO Maker Inventor on ‎05-28-2014 09:13 PM

What about a Wifi Router that lets you remotely power on and off.

It could also incorporate speedtest.net testing natively in the app that tracks your internet speed.

It could also tell you how many users are connected to your wifi at any given time.

WeMo Insight Switch for French-style sockets

by dusek ‎05-23-2014 11:42 AM - edited ‎05-24-2014 05:12 AM
WeMo Insight Switch is available for e.g. US, UK and German-style sockets, but not for French-style sockets.

Please implement the product also for French-style sockets. I am particularly interested in getting the product in Czech Republic which uses such sockets, but I guess the big French market will be stronger motivation for this product.

Need turn on/off time to be optionally randomized within a a selectable time window (including day boundaries). Provides 'lived in' appearance.

Power Consumption Charts?

Status: Implemented
by Community Manager on ‎07-15-2012 03:49 AM

I'm impressed with Wemo's set-up method - using the app to connect the device to the wifi network.

I'd love to be able to see a chart of power consumed and on & off times. Ideally I could download a csv file with all that data for each wemo device. This might be better achieved in a web interface with your wemo servers.

Very clever, and I like where it looks like you're going!

This can be done with the WeMo Insight Switch and IFTTT.

Data collection

This is pretty neat, but falls just short of awesome. What would really make it a killer app for me would be data collection — if it told you how much power the outlet is drawing so you could chart it and twiddle for maximum efficiency, etc. C'est possible?
